About us

WE HAVE COME A LONG WAY

The company started off as an internal security division of the then Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed Apex Corporation of Zimbabwe Group in May 2008. It offered guard services to Apex’s six companies. The services were also extended to Phoenix Consolidated Industries, a subsidiary of Apex Corporation, and other private clients.

It became a private company on 1 January 2011 after a management buyout transaction, when its name changed to Security Partners (Private) Limited. Thus, although incorporated in December 2010, the company has seven years of existence and service in Zimbabwe.

In its daily operations , the company is guided by the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act Chapter 27:10 and the Companies Act Chapter 24:03. The company also complies with various security instruments and the Code of Standards from the Zimbabwe National Security Association(ZINSA) where it is a full member.

  • We do not believe in half baked security solutions.
  • To us, the rhetoric that, “Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted” does not make any sense at all. We only rest when we have offered true security to our clients.In shona we say, “tiripo kana makadiiwo,” meaning we are fine only if you are fine as well.

Employees are recruited using a stringent system whereby all are vetted by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to check their criminal history. Recruits also go through an in-house training session to learn the organisational culture of SecPat, a culture of hard working, respect, and honesty.

We also do background checks to verify employee personal life authenticity, qualifications, experience etc.During their period of service, some of these workers are sent for further specialised training in areas like First Aid, FirebFighting, Customer Care, Dog Handling, use and maintenance of firearms and drill.

The company invests in the training and development of the workers because we subscribe to the maxim that “little knowledge is very dangerous.”

Staff welfare is a highly sensitive matter because guards ‘ morale directly impact on our clients. We endeavour to pay decent salaries and on time to minimise pay-related disgruntlements and absenteeism.

SecPat also rewards guards for good work, discipline , and turnout( smartness ). Periodic memos, circulars and meetings are also used to enhance communication

The company also avoids overworking guards as this causes fatigue, a swollen wage bill and worker disgruntlement to the disadvantage of our innocent and valued client
